Starr. Aided by Starr in ensuring her demo tape found its way into the hands of Columbia Records head Tommy Matola (the man whom Carey would later wed and eventually divorce) at a party, Carey was soon signed to the label and with the release of her massively successful eponymous debut in 1990, achieved overnight success. With strong follow-up efforts establishing Carey as one of the premier vocalists of the decade (she had a number one single each year of the 1990s, her songs spending more time at the Billboard top spot than any recording artist in history) it was only a matter of time before the established singer attempted to expand her career. Suffering a physical and emotional breakdown months before the release of her big-screen debut in Glitter, Carey's "lambs" (her slang term for her loyal fans) rallied to her side in support upon the release of numerous scathing reviews. Inspired by such musical dramas as Fame (1980) and Purple Rain (1984), the semi-autobiographical retro tale of a young singer rising to fame despite the odds stacked against her was dismissed as cliché and laughably bad, with reviews specifically targeting the vulnerable singer's sub-par performance and the films unintentionally campy tone. Public appearances in which her behavior grew increasingly bizarre coupled with distressing messages on her website and fan phone line underscored the onetime pop diva's increasing mental collapse, making her admission into a Connecticut mental hospital seem almost inevitable to all who bore witness to her multiple public meltdowns. Craig was born in Chester, Cheshire, England. His mother, Carol Olivia (née Williams), was an art teacher, and his father, Timothy John Wroughton Craig, was the landlord of the pubs "Ring o' Bells"  and "The Boot Inn", and also served as a midshipman in the Merchant Navy.[4][5][6] Both of Craig's parents were of half Welsh descent.[7] He was brought up in Liverpool and on the Wirral, Merseyside,[8] and began acting in school plays at age six. Craig went to a primary school in Frodsham and Hoylake called Holy Trinity Primary School[citation needed]. He moved to London when he was sixteen to join the National Youth Theatre after a stay at Calday.[6] He and his older sister, Lea, attended Hilbre High School and Calday Grange Grammar School in West Kirby. Craig appeared as Joe in the Royal National Theatre's production of Tony Kushner's Angels in America in November 1993. An early starring role was as 'Geordie' in the BBC's 1996 drama Our Friends in the North, with early film roles being as Angelina Jolie's rival and love interest in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001), before appearing in Sam Mendes's movie Road to Perdition (2002), with Tom Hanks and Paul Newman. Other leading film roles include Sword of Honour (2001), The Mother (2003) with Anne Reid, Sylvia (2003) with Gwyneth Paltrow, Layer Cake (2004) with Sienna Miller, Enduring Love (2004) with Rhys Ifans, Steven Spielberg's Munich (2005) with Eric Bana, Infamous (2006), and The Golden Compass (2007). LOS ANGELES – Christina Aguilera and her husband of nearly five years have separated. The "Beautiful" singer says in a statement released Tuesday that she and husband Jordan Bratman's commitment to their 2-year-old son remains "as strong as ever."

The Grammy Award winner's statement did not indicate when the couple split or whether either would file for divorce.

Court records in Los Angeles do not show any filing by either Aguilera or Bratman.

The couple married in November 2005. Their split was first reported by US Weekly.

The recent review on advances in the treatment of prostate cancer does not adequately capture the the significant advance that the Provenge vaccine represents for men suffering from metastatic (advanced) prostate cancer. This is the first vaccine ever approved by the FDA for the treatment of active cancer. While it is not a cure for the disease, it does offer men a safe, immune-based method to control the cancer that has spread to their bones and lymph nodes.

The cost of the treatment is covered by most major insurance companies, including Medicare. Men with advanced prostate cancer should consider their suitability for the vaccine before beginning chemotherapy.
